Medical Repatriation between Croatia and France
An accident or a sudden illness during a holiday in Croatia, or a patient who must be brought back to France: we organize the medical transport end to end.

Croatia has become one of the favorite summer destinations of French travelers, with its Adriatic coast, its islands and its national parks, and it is only about two hours from France by air. Repatriations typically follow road and scooter accidents, falls and injuries during sailing, swimming or hiking, or an acute illness during the holidays. The short distance allows a rapid mission, with a light or midsize jet in many cases.
Our coordinating physician assesses each case together with the on-site medical team to determine the equipment required and the transport mode best suited to the patient's condition.

Formalities & coordination
Croatia is a member of the European Union, which simplifies part of the formalities, but an air ambulance still requires landing and handling arrangements at the departure airport, and, for patients located on an island or in a remote area, a medically equipped transfer to the airport, by road, boat or helicopter. These steps are coordinated with the treating hospital and with the patient's travel insurer or assistance company from the opening of the case.
Our team can work directly with the patient's insurer or assistance company to arrange fast coverage — see our dedicated page for insurers and assistance companies.
Customs and consular formalities vary case by case and change over time. Our team confirms the exact documents required from the first contact.

Common questions about this route
Yes. We first organize the transfer to the mainland or to the nearest airport suitable for the air ambulance, by ground ambulance, boat or helicopter depending on the location and the patient's condition, then the flight to France. Our coordinating physician plans each leg with the treating team.
It depends on the patient's condition and the urgency: given the relatively short distance, a light to midsize jet is generally suitable, and a medically equipped ground transfer can be considered in some cases — our coordinating physician determines the most suitable option.
