Description – Pilatus PC-12
The Pilatus PC-12 is one of the most versatile and widely used single-engine medical aircraft in the world for medevac missions. Its spacious and modular cabin allows the transport of a patient in a lying position as well as an accompanying person, in optimal comfort and safety conditions.
The particularity of the Pilatus PC-12 lies in its exceptional ability to take off and land on very short runways, sometimes unprepared (earth, gravel or grass). This ability allows it to operate as close as possible to the patient’s location, including in isolated or difficult-to-access areas. Thanks to its powerful and extremely reliable turboprop, the PC-12 can easily use many small regional airports, making it a perfect aircraft for medical transfers over short to medium distances, but also on longer non-stop routes.
The onboard medical equipment is of a very high standard and comparable to that of an intensive care unit in a hospital. The accompanying crew, consisting of a doctor and a nurse specialized in medical air transport, is trained to provide complex care during flight. He constantly ensures the well-being of the patient and his companions during national or international health transfers.
